Synopsis

It is amazing to see how famous the name of Magellan is when the true feat of this Portuguese captain has been forgotten by the vast majority: In 1519, Fernand de Magellan simply mounted a foolish expedition that was to take 237 men to India via the West. Magellan wanted to fulfill Christopher Columbus’s dream. He embarked on this crazy project on a land whose exact dimensions were unknown, with the wind as the only driving force, along dangerous and unknown coasts, surrounded by a crew of suspicious Spaniards, in latitudes where no boat had ever sailed.
